The WESH report shows some of the training given by the Polk Sheriff’s Office to nine Southeastern University staffers to neutralize active shooters. Rep. Carlos Smith, an Orlando Democrat, says the school employees shouldn’t be allowed to carry weapons on campus as special deputies because they’re not on the sheriff’s payroll.
