Judy Anna (London) Rudolph passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center at the age of 75.
Judy was born on October 4, 1945 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1966 from Lake-Lehman High School in Lehman, PA. Graduation was a major accomplishment for Judy. She had to overcome the challenges of teachers, who did not have extra time for, or perhaps did not understand how severe her hearing loss was and how much she missed during lectures. She also had to overcome the taunting of other students, who came from more affluent families and had no understanding of the life challenges she faced. With the help of the Lord and a handful of friends, she was able to walk across that stage and receive the well-deserved Diploma.
Judy’s first paying job was at Misericordia University, PA as a laundry worker. She also stayed busy babysitting, house cleaning, weeding, & of course being a homemaker. Throughout her life, Judy has resided in Dallas, PA, Horseheads, NY, & finally Lakeland, FL.
Judy loved reading, walking, baking, church & serving others. She enjoyed running errands, grocery shopping and visiting friends in Assisted Living, among many other acts of service. She loved to help any way she could. She did all the above, while providing much assistance for her spouse, Jerry.
Judy grew up & married in a Free Methodist Church. In later years, she attended Gibsonia Baptist Church, Lakeland, which she considered her “Home Church”.
Early in life, Judy developed a servant’s heart, providing much support and care for her sister, Kathy, who had multiple physical challenges. Over the years, Judy learned many skills, including Sign Language & Lip Reading. She learned embroidery, making special gifts for giving. She accomplished many skills that others may just take for granted. She kept the check book balanced, tried new recipes, managed multiple medications for 2 people, & thanks to the foresight & patience of a wonderful Mother-In-Law, Henrietta (Betty) Rudolph, Judy learned to drive, making her the sole driver! She was a true “Home-Maker”, where her heart was.
Judy is survived by her sister Doris Marie Vanderpool of Hunlock Creek, PA; Uncle Frederick (Pete) London and wife, Iva of Noxen, PA; Nephews Antonio & Dezmond Vanderpool of PA; Plus many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, too numerous to list. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry Rudolph; Mother Ethel Josephine Bielecki; Sister Katherine Faith London and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, too numerous to list.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road Lakeland, Florida 33801. A graveside committal service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
