
Joy Lee Mogyorosy, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021, in Lakeland, Florida.
Born on November 24, 1928, in Spring Lake, Florida, she earned a bachelors’ degree from Florida State University. She was a bibliophile, lexophile and ailurophile. She dedicated her life-long career to teaching English and History to junior high students in Auburndale and Lakeland. Beloved by many, her students continued to keep in touch with her right up until her passing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Irene Stansel Lee; her father, Lewis Cook Lee, Jr.; her sister, Patricia Anne Mona; her brother, Michael Thomas Lee; and her husband, Robert Mogyorosy. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Lee Alford; her daughter, Brenda Daniels; her son-in-law, Michael Daniels; her granddaughters, Kimberly Furlin and Brandy Stevens; her great-grandchildren Darrell Stevens and Kaylin Stevens; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 2 p.m. where she will be laid to rest together with her husband.
