The public is invited to a grand opening of Grace City Church’s new campus at 4540 Exploration Ave. on Sunday, Aug 30.
Visitors will be able to tour the 74,000-square-foot church, which includes a 1,700-seat worship center, a coffee shop, and a dedicated children’s ministry wing.
The event, with food trucks and play spaces for kids, will begin with a ribbon cutting at 8:10 a.m., followed by services at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. At 6:00 p.m., Grace City Music, the congregation’s in-house worship team, will lead a building dedication and night of worship.
The church is moving from two to three Sunday worship services starting with this special event, following continued attendance growth since its new campus opened in late June.
Since its launch in 2015, Grace City Church has drawn more than 3,000 regular worshippers, making it one of about 10 evangelical megachurches in the area.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue investing in Lakeland and creating spaces where people can connect with God and with one another,” said Senior Pastor Andrew Gard, who co-founded the church with his wife, Senior Pastor Christina Gard.

Future plans for their 50-acre campus include athletic fields, walking and running trails, and a fishing dock along Banana Lake, which church leaders hope locals will use freely “to connect, stay active, and enjoy community together in South Lakeland,” according to a statement.
