
Constance E. Farmer of Lakeland, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. This most wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend lived all of her 91 years to the fullest.
Connie was born on January 29, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Roy and Constance (Lane) Sutherland. She enjoyed working as an office lady and bookkeeper for a Kresge store where she met and soon married William A. Farmer in 1956, her husband of 35 years. They lovingly raised four children who blessed them with twelve precious grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Connie and William moved to Florida in 1986 where she has lived for the past 35 years.
Connie had a passion for spending time with family and friends, was the reigning champion of all card and board games, loved cooking and hosting large meals and events for her friends and neighbors of Sandpiper Golf and Country Club in the clubhouse fondly referred to as “Connie’s Kitchen,” she enjoyed cruises, and was an avid baseball fan.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother (Roy Sutherland), sister-in-law (Constance Sutherland), daughter-in-law (Patricia Farmer), and other loved ones.
She is survived by her children Wayne Farmer, Sandra (Duane) Cumper, Janet (Timothy) Lucas, and Dennis (Traci) Farmer; her cousins, Frances Sutherland and Hugh (Kay) June; her grandchildren Nicholas (Leah) Lucas, Heather Lucas, Ashley Lucas, Chad Farmer, Meggan Lucas, Stephanie (Justin) Hedrich, Lauren Lucas, Aaron Farmer, Torie (Andrew) Shetterly, Kelly (Cody) Cumper-Newland, Constance Cumper, and Sarah (Brandon) Redman; five great-grandchildren, and her many wonderful friends.
Connie will join her dear husband, William, and be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
