A bicyclist crossing Sikes Boulevard into traffic was hit by a car and died at the scene Friday night, Lakeland police said. The bike rider was identified as Byron P. Haas, 39, of 1212 Hartsell Avenue.
Pedestrian, 78, Dies After Car Hits Her on Carter Road
A 78-year-old Lakeland woman walking along Carter Road was hit by a car and died as she crossed the road near the entrance to Eaglebrooke, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported today. Anne McMillian of 7020 S. Carter Road was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries Tuesday night, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
