Mother Carrie Lee Jones was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia , April 8th, 1925 to the late Willie Mack & Georgia Mae Cobbs.
She was married to the late Thomas Jones for over 40 years. Mother Carrie was a proud member of the Masonic Family along with her husband as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church. As a Christian woman, she believed firmly in taking care of her home, husband, and children with joy and honor.
On March 29th, 2021, she received her final calling from her Heavenly Father, King Jesus. This was her day of triumphant return to the Lord. The entire family and friends who knew her; loved her and will forever miss her unique touch as a woman of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mack Cobb and Georgia Mae Cobb; and her dear husband, Thomas Jones. Mother Jones leaves to cherish her memory, a loving family; her children, James Colson (wife, Mary Colson), Doug Colson (wife, Della Colson), Annie Davis; sisters, Georgia Mae Cobb, Jr. and Rosa Lee Cobb; 6 generations of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a service held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Oak Hill Cemetery (4620 Hwy. 98 South Lakeland, FL 33810). Condolences may be sent to the family at Oldham Funeral Home.
