The state permit allowing BS Ranch in east Lakeland to treat biosolids expires soon, environment reporter Craig Pittman writes in Florida Phoenix. The owners say they are confident their application to continue operating will be approved by the Department of Environmental Protection, but neighbors who have complained for nearly five years about foul odors and possible water contamination are hoping for denial.

  1. They make the lives of all who live in the area miserable. You cannot be outside at times because of the terrible sewer odor. They care nothing for the lives of the people who have to suffer because of them. Please do not allow them to continue this horrible operation. They need to be shut down immediately.
