Vanessa Jean Cannon, 64, went home to be with Jesus on June 14, 2020 due to ongoing health issues. She was the fiancé of Kerry Burgess. They shared 25 years together.

Vanessa Jean Cannon was born to Howard and Naomi Bell on September 24,1955 in Trenton, Michigan. She attended Kindergarten through twelfth grade in Taylor, Michigan. Vanessa moved to Florida in 1983 and she retired from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 2019.

Vanessa is survived by her partner, Kerry Burgess; sons Philip Cannon (Betty) and Chad Cannon (Shari); brothers Gary (Kimberly), Howard, and Brian; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and pup, Gracie. Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Naomi.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25th at 11:00 A.M. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home Serenity Gardens Chapel, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810. The visitation and viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
