Polk County Taco Week runs Friday, March 6, through Sunday, March 15. Over 50 restaurants will offer taco-week-only specials, unique taco-themed menu items, or discounted deals.
A full map of participating restaurants can be found here. After sampling specials, customers are invited to return to the website and vote for their favorites.
At least ten Lakeland restaurants are joining in the fun:
- By the Chef Pizza: birria roja pizza – slow-braised beef birria over a reduced consomme sauce with mozzarella and Oaxaca cheese. Finished with cilantro-lime crema, fresh herbs, crumbled cotija, and a drizzle of rich birria jus.
- Cob & Pen: chicken satay tacos – three tacos with zesty lime cabbage slaw, peanut sauce, grilled chicken and fresh cilantro.
- J. Burns’ Pizza Shop: 7″ signature taco pizza with ground beef, 3-cheese blend and Cholula hot sauce + 2 garlic knots or a side salad and a drink for $11.95 at both Lakeland locations
- Sora Eatery: Korean short rib tacos – two soft, steamed bao buns filled with caramelized beef bulgogi, crunchy house-made kimchi slaw, and zesty gochujang aioli, finished with toasted sesame.
- LoveBird Almost Famous Chicken: chicken tacos – warm flour tortillas, tangy slaw, choice of tenders, bird sauce, pickled jalapeños, two for $10
- Tapatio’s Restaurante Mexicano: tacos asesinos – grilled corn tortillas filled with cheese and carne asada covered in a creamy, cheesy sauce with onion and cilantro, served with additional dipping sauce topped with cilantro.
- Garden Bistro: southwest chicken taco – warm corn tortilla filled with chipotle lime sauce, pulled chicken, and salted lime cabbage, topped with pico de gallo and cilantro + one side
- Parlor Doughnuts: breakfast tacos – two breakfast tacos on warm corn tortillas lightly brushed with butter and a thin layer of melted shredded cheese, filled with a choice of bacon or chorizo, topped with a fried egg and avocado spread
- Plates On Deck at Catapult: honey bourbon catfish tacos – crispy Southern-style fried catfish drizzled with signature honey bourbon sauce, topped with a choice of pineapple pico or traditional onions and cilantro AND Jerk shrimp tacos – juicy shrimp seasoned with island-inspired jerk blend and served with a choice of pineapple pico or traditional onion
- Palace Pizza: taco pizza for a limited time only
