Ronny Rosario, 23, a Florida Polytechnic University student who was reported missing Monday night, has been found and he is safe, a university spokeswoman said this afternoon.

“We express our sincere thanks to the Lakeland Police Department and Polk County Sheriff’s Office for their support and assistance throughout this investigation,” Lydia Guzman said.

Rosario had been last seen by his roommate at 1 a.m. Monday morning, according to university police. His phone has had no activity since Monday morning and he didn’t report to work on Tuesday, they said.

Rosario was believed to be on foot since his vehicle was still parked on campus. Sheriff’s deputies searched for him using bloodhounds and helicopters on Tuesday, and mounted officers will be checking high brush areas near campus today, officials said.
