Pedalpalooza is happening at TigerTown this Saturday, April 11, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 per child and $15 per adult.
At the event, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Lakeland, participants can learn about bike safety, get fitted for a free bike helmet while supplies last, explore the vendor fair, participate in family activities, and enjoy food trucks on site.
Stephanie Hoskins, president of Kiwanis of Lakeland, said the organization was inspired to host the event after several recent accidents in the city involving bicyclists.

“The goal is to make Lakeland more safe and give back to the community,” she said.
The event will also include live demonstrations from BMX professional rider Keegan Parks, the Lakeland Police Department Motorcycle Unit, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Lakeland Regional Health, and Lakeland Police Athletic League.
“Kiwanis is here to serve the community,” said Hoskins. “Our goal is to serve every child in some way, to build the community, and just to make the world a better place.”
The fun continues inside the stadium when the Lakeland Flying Tigers take on the Daytona Tortugas at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person or online with the discount code PEDALPALOOZA.
Pedalpalooza “brings together bikes, baseball, and giving back in one dynamic afternoon designed to celebrate families while investing directly in children across Polk County,” organizers said in a statement.
Proceeds from Pedalpalooza and $3 from every Flying Tigers ticket sold benefit the Kiwanis Club of Lakeland.
