Two buildings that are at least a century old won the city of Lakeland’s beautification awards for April. The residential award went to Wayne McCauley for his house at 2213 Cambridge Ave. near Lake Hollingsworth, shown above. The commercial award went to R.F. Lusa & Sons, a roofing and sheet metal company, for its offices at 1724 Fairbanks St. near Kathleen Road, seen below. The Lusa building was originally a residence built in 1923. Property records give the McCauley house a 1925 building date, but that year is sometimes listed for properties built a few years earlier. | Barry Friedman, LkldNow
