Seven races, 16 local candidates, one county referendum — that’s what you’ll find so far in LkldNow’s Midterm Voter Guide.

Our Voter Guides are always a labor of love. Begun in 2015 when LkldNow first launched, they represent LkldNow’s commitment to making it easy for people to be civically engaged and make informed decisions. Each Voter Guide is the culmination of countless hours of research, outreach, and design to create something that we hope you’ll find easy to use and informative.

As a local news organization, we take a bottom-up approach. We concentrate coverage on the offices that represent Lakeland in our government or are elected county-wide — often referred to as down-ballot races.

In the 2026 Midterm Voter Guide, you’ll find information on:

  • County Commission District 4,
  • School Board District 3, run-off
  • Florida House Districts 49, 50, and 51
  • Florida Senate District 12
  • U.S. House District 18
  • The county ballot referendum

We’ve also included more information on the government offices, so you’ll know who is running for office and how that office fits within the government.

There’s more reporting to come. We plan to continually update the Voter Guide throughout the election season and hope to add explainers for all three state ballot amendments.

If you have any questions — if there’s something more you’d like to know — please email us at mail@lkldnow.com, and we’ll work on getting you the answers.

Also, if you find anything that needs correcting, from tiny typos to misplaced text, please let us know ASAP, and we’ll get that fixed.

Now, get informed and go vote!
