
The Rev. Dr. John Santosuosso, Faculty Emeritus of Florida Southern College, passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 87.
John thoroughly enjoyed the study of international relations and comparative politics. He shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with those dedicated scholars known as students that he taught throughout his years at F.S.C. With a Master of Divinity degree, John also loved the study of comparative religions.
Travel took him and his wife throughout the world as they explored other cultures together. He had a passion for studying radio communication and collecting stamps, both of which further broadened his knowledge and appreciation of the world.
John is survived by his wife, Janet; his sister, Lynne; his niece, Rebecca; and his three nephews, Elias, Josiah, and Walden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 302 N. Carey Street, Plant City, FL 33563; the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitors Center at Florida Southern College, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801; or SPCA Florida, 5850 Brannen Road South, Lakeland, FL 33813.
A Mass with Holy Eucharist will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10:30am, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 302 N. Carey Street, Plant City, FL 33563.
