Jan Franklin Luce, 80

Jan F. Luce, age 80, passed away peacefully January 13, 2023, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1942, in Monroe Louisiana, the oldest son of late Samuel W. Luce and Josephine (Sherertz Parker) Luce. Jan was surrounded by family and his beloved service dog AWOL at the time of his death.

Jan is survived by his daughters, Christine Beall of Lakeland, FL, Patricia Luce of Grove City, PA, and his stepson, Eric C. Bonner of Munich, Germany.

Jan was deeply proud of his extended family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

Jan was a US Army veteran and later was employed by the Department of Defense as a civilian spending many years in Germany, the country that was his second home. “A life of kindness and light, brilliance and loyalty, heart and soul, remembered always with love.”

He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland on Wednesday January 18, 2023. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
