Born on July 12, 1954, in the sunny city of Jacksonville, Florida, Edith was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life.

Edith was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Helen Pierson, who instilled in her a sense of compassion and a joy for life that she carried with her always. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, David Russell Stephenson, her loving parents, and her dear brother, Joey Pierson. Despite her losses, Edith’s spirit remained resilient and her heart ever open to those around her.

A graduate of Kathleen High School, Edith embarked on a career as an outside sales representative for Manheim Auto Auctions, where she was known not only for her professional acumen but also for her infectious smile and willingness to help anyone in need. Yet, it was her role as a mother that defined her life. Edith was a devoted and nurturing mother to her children, James Boterf and Shannon Taccalite, who were the greatest joys of her life.

Edith found immense happiness in the simplest pleasures—fishing, spending time at the beach, and being near the water. Her love for raising orchids reflected her patient, nurturing spirit and her appreciation for nature’s beauty. A dedicated member of Bethel Baptist, her faith was a guiding force in her life, offering her strength and solace.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Helen Costine, who shared a bond of love and sisterhood that was unbreakable. Her legacy continues through her children, James and Shannon, and her adored grandchildren, Maddie Fowler, Hannah Fowler, Kayla Boterf, Hope Boterf, Mossimo Taccalite, and Demi Taccalite. Her joy multiplied further with the birth of her great-granddaughter, Ember Dixon.

Edith was the kind of person who lit up a room with her presence. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to make others feel valued and loved was unmatched. She was always ready to extend a helping hand, never hesitating to support anyone who needed her. Edith’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of a generous heart.
