Barbara Aubrey Walter, 76, passed away on March 2, 2020, in Lakeland, Florida, with her son, Alex, and daughter, Kim, by her side.
Born on August 1, 1943, to Mary Alice Reilly and William Edward Aubrey, Barbara grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, before eventually making Lakeland her permanent home in the 1960’s.
Family was at the heart of Barbara’s life. She treasured time with the people she loved and cared deeply for her children. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including ballet, ice skating, days at the beach, and getting lost in a good book. She also cherished the special roles of grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Aubrey and Mary Alice Reilly, and her brother, James Aubrey.
She is survived by her son, Alexander F. Walter Jr., and her daughters, Kimberly A. Higgins, Mary A. Phelps, and Robin L. Collins, all of Lakeland. She also leaves six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
No services will be held in Lakeland.
