Lakeland Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is bringing the magic of Broadway to Branscomb Auditorium to close out their 60th season. For one night only on April 4, “Defying Gravity: Bewitching Broadway” showcases acclaimed vocalists and the full symphony orchestra performing an evening of beloved Broadway hits.

“The LSO’s versatile musicians will dazzle you with this performance as we take a journey through various genres including everything from rock classics, power ballads, and sweeping Broadway overtures in this exciting tour of truly bewitching hits,” said Jason Thomas Aylward, LSO’s interim music director.

“Bewitching Broadway”’ includes guest vocals from Broadway alumni John Boswell, Scott Coulter, Alex Getlin, and Jessica Hendy. It has been featured by orchestras across the country, like the Colorado Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, and Symphony San Jose.

The combination of theatrical singing, live symphonic music, and familiar songs makes this performance an accessible option for symphony first-timers.

“We believe great music is for everyone,” said Ashley Miller, LSO’s executive director. “’Bewitching Broadway’ is the perfect night out and it is right here in your backyard.
