Frances M. Cook, 89, of Lakeland Florida, went to be with Jesus on May 31, 2020. Born on November 4, 1930 in Staten Island, New York to the late Helen and James Crosson, Frances was raised on Staten Island. Frances moved to Lakeland over 32 years ago.
Frances worked as a telephone operator for many years, in addition to being a stay-at-home mother.
Frances was active in her church, Northside Baptist in Lakeland, where she served on many committees. She loved reading her bible. Frances loved to bake and cook for family and friends and greatly enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She was an exceptional wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Auzie, and grandson, Timothy Cook; her brother Philip Crosson and sister, Helen Bauer. She is survived by her daughters, Nora Galbraith, (David), and Susan Burns, (Christopher), and five sons, Robert, (Shirley), Thomas, John, (Frances), Philip, (Tina), and James. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Canady, Erin Smith, Katherine Cook-Jimenez, Michael Burns, David Cook, Kristen Wilkerson, Samuel Cook, Kimberly Cook and Skyler Cook. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday June 3, 2020 at North Lakeland Baptist Church, Lakeland. Interment will be in Hamilton, Alabama.
