North Florida Avenue will be closed at the railway crossing between Main Street and Pine Street.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) expects the closure to begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, and reopen by 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, “weather permitting and barring any unforeseen conditions.”
According to FDOT, “The closure is necessary to allow crews working for CSX to perform routine maintenance and repairs at their railroad crossing.”
Detour information:
Northbound traffic on North Florida Avenue will be detoured left (west) onto Lime Street to state Road 563 (Sikes Boulevard), then right (north) to Martin Luther King Jr Avenue, right (northeast) to George Jenkins Boulevard, and right (east) back to North Florida Avenue.
Southbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.
Motorists are advised to plan additional travel time, follow posted detour signs and use caution in the area.
Other Downtown Street Closures:
- Farmers Curb Market: Kentucky Avenue will be closed from Lemon Street to Peachtree Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as usual.
- Construction: Tennessee Avenue and Kentucky Avenue may have temporary closures or partial use from Lime to Orange due to construction.
