Deputy Sheriff Blane Lee Lane, 21, passed away October 4, 2022.

Blane was born on January 12, 2001 in Brandon, Florida. He was a graduate of Mulberry High School where he played football and golf, and was active in FFA. Since the age of 4, it was Blane’s dream to become a deputy, and in September of 2020, he fulfilled that dream when he went to work for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and later became a deputy sheriff. His favorite past times included going to the shooting range, running, fishing, golf, football and baseball. Blane attended Together Church in Lakeland.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kate Lane; son by love, Trace “Timmy” Wood; parents, Shellie and Wayne Lane; sister, Maddix Lane; grandparents, Darrel and Debbie Sodders, Kathy Stader, Elizabeth and Charlie Jones; his cousin and best friend, Brady Patisaul; as well as his extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Victory Church, 1401 Griffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33810. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
