The city of Lakeland has announced a sweeping series of closures of Lakeland-area rail crossings, on CSX tracks, including in school zones..

The crossings are being closed by CSX to make “critical infrastructure improvements,” the city said. They’ll begin on Monday, Aug. 4.

“Each affected crossing will be closed for approximately three days while crews complete the necessary repairs,” the city said in an emailed statement.

“Work at each location will include track replacement, repaving, and asphalt curing before the crossing can safely reopen to traffic.”
