
Polk County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers in Waterwood and Riverlake subdivisions near Boy Scout Ranch Road in Lakeland.
This precaution is related to repairs for a damaged potable water main, though repairs have been completed.
All water users in the specified area are advised to drink bottled water and/or bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before cooking and drinking.
This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until ongoing water sampling analysis has been completed. Polk County Utilities staff will issue a notice rescinding the precautionary measure once satisfactory results have been confirmed.
As a further precaution, Polk County Utilities has also flushed the water lines in the area.
