Joyce Elliott, 88, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, generosity, and unwavering conviction that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Joyce was kind, loving, and giving. Her work ethic was exemplary. She was a true professional who was highly sought after for her expertise as an administrative assistant. For many years, she made her home in Atlanta, Georgia, before returning to Lakeland, Florida, to care for her mother during her illness—a reflection of her deep love and devotion to family.
Those who knew Joyce not only recognized her honesty, fairness, and remarkable personal character, but they also admired her determination to stand against injustice and her unwavering commitment to ensuring that others were treated with respect and dignity. She possessed both strength and compassion, never hesitating to speak up for what was right.
Joyce had a special love for children, demonstrated throughout her life by her concern for those who had been neglected and by her willingness to provide financial assistance to children and families in need. Her generous heart found joy in helping others, often in quiet and meaningful ways.
She was also a devoted American who deeply valued the Constitution of the United States and cherished the freedoms enjoyed by its citizens.
Those of us who loved Joyce will forever miss her and remain grateful that she shared her life with us. Her memory will continue to inspire us through the example she set and the lives she touched.
As we say goodbye, we do so with the hope and confidence of her Christian faith. We rejoice in the assurance that she is now reunited with her precious Mimi and with other beloved family members and friends who have gone before her.
Joyce’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
