William Pentecost passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 72, in Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by his wife and sons. He was always concerned more about his wife and family than he was himself.

Bill is survived by his beautiful wife, Patricia, three sons and their wives (David and Michele, Mark and Gabriella, and Jon and Sarah), six grandchildren (Jack, Josslyn, Giselle, Aubrey, Graysen and Colten), and his two sisters, Starla and Bekie.

Bill spent four years in the United States Marine Corps, then attended Bible College in Houston, Texas, where he married Patricia, the love of his life. Together they served as missionaries, Bible College professors, and pastors in both the United States and over seas. After retiring from his pastorate in Plant City, Florida, Bill continued to minister as a volunteer Chaplain with the Polk County Correctional system.

Bill will be remembered as a quick witted, no non-sense kind of man who loved Jesus, loved his wife, took care of his family, and raised his boys to be honorable and hard working. His goal in life was to present himself “approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

A time of visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, followed by a Celebration service at 11 a.m. in the Light of Lights Chapel at Victory Church, 1401 Griffin Road, Lakeland, Florida 33810. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
