Virginia Jackson Leetun, 93, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away August 25, 2021.

Virginia was born April 28, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Park Ridge, IL. She attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, majoring in Home Economics. Virginia married Maynard Leetun in1948, and they moved to Pierce, FL, a company mining town, with Agrico Chemical. She was a homemaker, a wonderful seamstress, and a citrus grower, and helped start a chapter of alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Florida Southern College. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian church and active in her church circle. She also was a member of the Lakeland Junior League, PEO, Needlework Guild, and her beloved bridge club, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Lakeland Regional Health. She loved the beach and enjoyed spending time with family at their vacation home on Longboat Key.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes (Gast) Jackson, and her brother, William Jackson. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey, Patricia (John), and Douglas; four grandchildren, Robert Leetun (Lauren), Eric Templeton (Fallon), Andy Templeton (Heather), and Brian Templeton (Fiancée Carolina); five great-grandchildren, Charles, Elisabeth, Kallen, Brecken, and Blaine; and nieces Linda Carr (Steve) and Barbara Leetun Wilson (Robert.)

The family wishes to thank Desired Care members Desiree, Nae, Quitta, Glorida, Kya, and Ann, as well as Good Shepherd Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Oak Hill Burial Park, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
