Roughly 200 people came to the RP Funding Center tonight to learn about and comment on Amazon’s plans to expand its air cargo facility at Lakeland Linder International Airport. The event included a chance for attendees to ask questions of airport officials, a slide presentation summarizing the proposal and its environmental impacts, remarks by Airport Director Gene Conrad about plans to mitigate noise and a public comment period. The video starts just before the slide presentation began. | COVERAGE: News Channel 8 | Fox 13 News | The Ledger

Plane noise lake trains become part of life and after the adjustment you will not hear them much at all. Progress didn’t stop because of train noise and shouldn’t because of planes. I live in north Lakeland and they fly over my house too. I just think they must be bringing my order. The more theses stores go to self checkouts, I think “if I wanted to check myself out, I would just stay home and order from Amazon . They won’t hire people who want jobs so I love Amazon.
This was extraordinary. Thank you City of Lakeland , lkldnow and Amazon.
I can’t believe that I moved from NYC to Lakeland last year only to find my Home on the pathway by numerous planes to the Lindor Airport. Not at all happy with expansion. Amazon should at least lower or pay for our Property taxes?
Did you not do any homework at all and realize there was an airport near where you live? If you moved here last year, Amazon was already well in play so you were not paying attention or did not care. If you are not happy complain to your realtor because clearly they did not tell you.
