When qualifying ended at noon today, three candidates filed for the Aug. 28 Democratic primary to determine the party’s candidate for the U.S. House District 15 seat being vacated by Dennis Ross, a Republican. They are: Kristen Carlson of Lakeland, Andrew Learned of Valrico and Raymond Peña of Lakeland. Gregg Pilkington of Indian Lake Estates angrily quit the race, accusing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee of favoring Learned, FloridaPolitics.com reports.
