Thomas H. Crawford, 82, of Lakeland, died on April 17, 2021.

He was born on September 22, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas and Grace Crawford. His family moved to Chicago, IL where he graduated from Amundsen High School. He attended the University of Illinois but transferred to the University of Florida when his family relocated. He was a graduate of the UF School of Pharmacy. During his time at UF, he met and married Verna.

Thomas worked for Eckerds and Walgreens as well as for private pharmacies during his career. Upon retirement Tom continued to work as a pharmacist volunteering over 4000 hours with the Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine. In 2008 he received the President’s Volunteers Service Award for his time with LVIM. He also enjoyed mentoring students who were interested in being Pharmacists. Thomas was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved to read and learn new things even earning his pilot’s license in 1979. He placed a high value on hard work and the value of a good education.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Grace Crawford, sister Patricia, and his wife of 52 years Verna. He is survived by 2 children, Alexis (Steve) Livesay, Tim (Jamie) Crawford; sister Elizabeth (Bill) Brugler, sister-in-law Joyce; Seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Mark, Christina, Stephanie, Mikayla, and Logan; and 14 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
