Swastika-Painted Rocks Left at Minority-Owned Business

“I want to react with peace,” said Alo Shalaby, 27, who with his brothers co-owns Urban Appeal, a clothing store on Kentucky Avenue downtown. “Every community has its trash can. I’m not going to judge a community by its trash.” The Shalaby brothers, born in the U.S., are of Muslim heritage. Police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
