Steven Milton Gentry, 85, peacefully went to sleep Friday. June 19, 2020 at Good Shepard Hospice House. He was born May 2, 1935 to the late William and Nola Boatman-Gentry from the Dodson Branch Community in Cookeville, TN. He was an avid woodworker, handyman and gardener but the true passion was his 1959 Cadillac.
He was preceded in death by his parents along with three brothers, Birch, Benton and James Gentry as well as a sister, Rose Welch.
Surviving are: his wife of over 60 years, Ella “Fran” Gentry of Lakeland, FL; two sons, Carl Allen Gentry of Maiden, NC and Steven Daniel Gentry of Groveland, FL; two grandsons, Steven Daniel Gentry II of California, MO and Michael Allen Gentry of Orlando, FL; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Gentry of Montgomery, TX; five great-grandchildren, Steven Daniel Gentry III and Vanessa Denise Gentry, both of California, MO, Mason Riley Carver, Merrick James Carver and Warren Michael Gentry, all of Orlando, FL; a sister, Mildred Thompson and a brother, Franklin Gentry both of Kettering, OH; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Gentry of Kettering, OH and Dorothy Gentry of Cookeville, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepard Hospice, Lakeland Hospice House, 3450 Lakeland Hills Boulevard, Lakeland, FL 33805.
