Robert Franklin Smith, 68

Robert Franklin Smith was born to the late Booker T. and Willow Wease Smith on January 28, 1952 in Bartow, Florida. He was raised in Medulla, Florida and educated in Polk County Public Schools. He graduated from Lakeland Senior High School as a proud Dreadnaughts. Robert was a phenomenal track star in high school and college.

Robert was a caring, loving and hardworking man who loved his family very dearly. He worked at Mosaic-New Wales where he would eventually retire after 30 plus years of dedicated service. He was an avid runner and loved to go freshwater fishing. Robert could be found at his beloved Dreadnaughts games every Friday, watching his Florida Gators on Saturday and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Robert married Renae Price on March 27, 1982 and to this union their daughter Ronja and son Robert II were born. They all resided together in Brandon, Florida.

Robert became an ancestor on September 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Booker T. & Willow Wease Smith, brother Tommy Lee Smith and great-granddaughter Kalani.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Renae Smith of Brandon. His brother Michael J. Smith(Shirley) of Lakeland, his children Robbie Smith of Lakeland, Tyrone Smith of Lake City, Angela Myers of Winter Haven, Ronja Smith of Riverview, and Robert Smith II (Jamila) of Riverview. His grandchildren Robert, Ke’Andra, Alexis, Azariah, Chloe, Robert III, Dainyla, Davon, Tobias, Icis, Yolony, J’Von and Romie.
