
Robert Wesley Kirkland (Coach Rob) entered into Heaven on Sunday, August 15, 2021, due to COVID. He was 40 years old.
Robert was born on January 16, 1981, in Lakeland, Florida. Robert is survived by his loving son, Zachary Heath Kirkland, his loving girlfriend and companion Michaela Criss, loving mother Mary Ruth Clagett, loving Stepmom Anita Kirkland, loving father Ed Kirkland, Zachary’s loving mother Hilary Swann Mohler (Robert), loving brother Tim Peak of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and many loving family members, beloved friends, and the Harvest Meat Markets Family. He is preceded in death by loving stepdad William Clagett 09.07.2012.
Robert graduated from Lake Gibson High School in 2000. He attended Polk Community College and was a Sales Associate for Geico for fifteen years. Robert earned many awards as an outstanding Professional Salesperson. He then joined Harvest Meat Markets as Operating Manager and Marketing Specialist. He was a member of Family Worship Center in Lakeland where he graduated from FWC Prep School in 2016.
Robert was a devoted man of God with a giant heart of compassion for all. He was a devoted father to his loving son and best friend Zach, cherishing precious moments and memories together; both being devoted Buccaneers Fans. Robert loved spending time with his beloved Michaela and her family. He loved family time; he loved spending time with his family and friends. Robert had a passion for sports. He was a tenacious offensive lineman (nickname – “The Stump”), winning two super bowls for the North Lakeland Volunteers Bucs team, coached by his beloved cousin Ray Vann, who loved him like his own son.
For many years, Coach Rob dedicated his time to coaching youth baseball and youth football. He coached the Wolf Pack Cubs baseball team, eventually leading them to the Championship with Zach. He had a mission and passion to lead youth to Christ, spending many dedicated hours teaching them Godly principles. He loved fishing and playing video games with his son and friends. He cherished family time, and loved the Lord with all his heart.
His favorite scripture is Isaiah 41:10, Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Family Worship Center, 1350 East Main Street, Lakeland, FL 33801. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
