SUSHI: Downtown Lakeland is getting the third location of Winter Haven’s Tsunami Sushi (web). The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will be on the ground floor of the BB&T Bank building, which is on the Tennessee Avenue side of Munn Park and just a block and a half from the recently announced Screaming Tuna restaurant opening on Bay Street in the NoBay complex.

AUDITOR: City commissioners agreed with their staff in a 5-2 vote to retain the outside auditors they’ve used for at least three decades even though the firm was the most expensive of three finalists.

CANNABIS: City commissioners fine-tuned proposed land-use regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries in preparation for a June 19 public hearing and July 5 vote on the issue. The commission voted 4-3 to allow drive-through sales, but a motion that would reduce the distance between dispensaries failed.
