ROTI: When Cafe Roti relocates downtown to 116 S. Tennessee Ave., it will sport pews, doors and furnishings from the First Christian Church on Florida Avenue that restaurant owner and anesthesiologist Saqib Khan salvaged when he converted the church into his pain clinic.

SCHOOLS: Sixteen Polk schools have been named Five Star Schools for community involvement, and four are in Lakeland: George Jenkins High, Lawton Chiles Middle Academy, Lincoln Avenue Academy and Winston Academy of Engineering.

FATALITY: Glenn Gillenwater, 63, was walking on the Harden Boulevard sidewalk Tuesday afternoon when he was struck and killed by a swerving pickup truck.
