R.I.P.: Kurth Gustafsen, 61, who died after a long illness, was a 33-year reporter and editor at The Ledger who valued accuracy, fairness and civility. As one friend said on Facebook, he “would not have wanted the attention, but would most definitely approve of the writing” of Rick Rousos’ story about him.

HOUSE INCENTIVE: City officials want to get word out about incentives offered to people buying new homes being built near Lincoln Avenue Academy. Buyers who qualify for a conventional loan on the $119,000-to-$124,000 homes will get 20 percent of the cost of the home as a downpayment if they live there for at least five years.
