ELECTION: Incumbent Florida House member Neil Combee (website) is being challenged by Victor Sims (website), 20, whose chief issue is higher education for foster care youth.

BODY CAMS: Sheriff Judd is firm in his opposition to body and dash cams for deputies despite a petition (check it here) signed by 20,000 people. (It’s hard to tell how many signers are from Polk County, but only three of the last 50 signers as of 7 a.m. today identified themselves as Floridians.)

TOWNSEND: It’s Billy Townsend Day on the Opinion pages, with a column by the School Board candidate and a supportive letter from former School Board member Nancy Simmons. (Opponent Hunt Berryman had his own column in August as well as several supportive letters since then.)
