POLITICS: State Sen. Kelli Stargel and Rep. Neil Combee say they still support Donald Trump and plan to appear with him in Lakeland tomorrow (rally info) despite the release of his sex-banter tape. U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross and state Rep. Colleen Burton did not respond to attempts by Ledger reporters to determine whether they plan to appear with Trump. UPDATE: Reporter John Chambliss tweeted that Burton will not attend the Trump rally because of a “personal appointment” (She previously said she would attend) but said she will still vote for him.

POLLUTION I: City officials recommend against swimming in Anglers Lake (map) off Reynold Road after 8,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into a nearby drainage ditch Sunday.

POLLUTION II: A Lakeland inventor has devised a method to remove bacteria from lakes that is getting kudos for reducing fecal contamination from water taken from Banana Lake.
