At issue is whether a state law raising starting teacher salaries gives school districts flexibility in using part of the funding to increase pay for current teachers to the new base.
  • RURAL DEVELOPMENT: A housing development planned at Medulla and Hamilton Roads is being opposed by neighbors who say it will disrupt their rural lifestyle and flood their property. County commissioners have already approved the portion of the project in unincorporated Polk, and Lakeland’s Planning and Zoning Board takes up the portion within city limits on Tuesday.
