- SCHOOLS: The task force drafting a plan to reopen Polk public schools in August is recommending that masks be worn by all students and teachers. The School Board takes up the group’s recommendations Tuesday.
- CONTACT TRACERS: A Florida Department of Health algorithm says the 60 people tracing contacts of new COVID-19 patients in Polk are nearly enough, according to the person supervising the local effort. But a formula from the National Association of County & City Health Officials suggests Polk has less than one-third of the sufficient number.
