• CONGRESS: Lakeland City Commissioner Scott Franklin has taken the offense in his bid to unseat fellow Republican Ross Spano in Congress. In a news release, Franklin alleges that $117,000 spent by Spano for Facebook advertising was for campaigning rather than communicating with constituents. Spano’s campaign manager called Franklin’s claims “inaccurate.”
