CONGRESS: Andrew Learned, a Democrat running to unseat U.S. Rep. Ross Spano for the U.S. House seat representing most of Lakeland, says there’s nothing to a FloridaPolitics article. He says he has no plans to switch races and run instead for a Florida House seat, and the holder of that seat, Adam Hattersley, tells The Ledger he hasn’t decided whether to run for Congress.

BILLY HENDERSON: A celebration of life is planned for the Sun ‘n Fun Fly-in’s first executive director at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Aerospace Discovery Museum, 4175 Medulla Road. He died April 12 at age 89.

MOTORCYCLE EVENT: Wheels of Steel motorcycle show, benefitting the Early Learning Coalition, 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday at the RP Funding Center. Tickets: $20 for adults, $5 for teens, children admitted free; free parking.
