CHARTER: Lakeland voters will be asked to decide on several proposed changes to the city charter in November, but the ballot will not include the two most controversial measures suggested by a charter committee a couple of years ago: making it easier to sell Lakeland Electric and tightening term limits for commissioners and the mayor.
MANNYS: Employees and customers were surprised Tuesday by an unexpected Facebook announcement (here) that Manny’s Chophouse in South Lakeland has closed.
CITY RETIREES: Lakeland commissioners on Monday upheld a pension board recommendation against granting an ad hoc raise to retired city workers.
