DOWNTOWN GARAGE: A proposed parking garage at Heritage Plaza downtown (aerial view) aims to jumpstart economic development by increasing the pool of employee parking. The public-private project is estimated to cost up to $12 million, and city commissioners on Monday discuss whether they’ll fund up to $6 million of it. (The meeting agenda does not yet include the text of the purchase/sale agreements but does include a resolution authorizing reimbursement from up to $5 million in revenue bonds.)

HEMP STORE: A new business in Scottsdale Plaza on South Florida Avenue sells products featuring the cannabis-derived CBD, or cannabidiol. Unlike products containing marijuana’s THC derivative that require a doctor’s prescription, CBD goods are sold over the counter and the merchant makes no claims of medical properties.
