ANCHOR HOUSE: The Auburndale-based ministry is expanding its mission to prevention of teen pregnancies. A donor bought a house in south Lakeland as a shelter for young women 18 and over who have aged out of foster care, a group with a high incidence of pregnancy.

DINING: Joshua’s Kitchen on Shepherd Road gets kudos from restaurant critic Eric Pera for its cozy, friendly atmosphere. The diner earned 2 1/2 stars for food and 3 1/2 stars for service.
