REJUVENATE: A 31-year-old former professional poker player is working to renovate the 88-year-old apartments at Palmetto and Winfree, long an eyesore in the Lake Morton neighborhood.

SCHOOL BOARD RACE: In a feisty exchange at a candidate forum, Polk School Board hopeful Jennifer Sabin differentiated herself from her opponent, four-term incumbent Kay Fields, by saying she would ask lots of questions before making decisions. Fields responded that she is respectful on the podium but proactive behind the scenes.
