LAKE MIRIAM: The origin of Lake Miriam’s name has become clearer: After a recent article (here) left waters murky, the Morning Paper now informs readers (as it did in 2002) that the lake was named for the late Helen Miriam Hallam Gladman, who once controlled vast acreage in the Lakeland Highlands.
