SHOOTING 1: A wild incident Sunday that started with a traffic stop evolved into a car being used as a weapon against two deputies, a harrowing chase and a suspect being shot three times after deputies stopped him. He is hospitalized following emergency surgery and charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

SHOOTING 2: A follow-up on the man who was shot last week after stealing $36 worth of beer: He died at the hospital, and now the convenience store co-owner accused of firing the shots has been charged with second-degree murder.

POWER PRESIDENT: Joel Ivy, Lakeland Electric’s general manager, has been elected board president for Florida Municipal Electric Association, which represents public power utilities.
