SCHOOL GRADES: School administrators are celebrating news that the Polk school district’s grade rose from a C to a B this year and that four of six “turn-around” schools — including Kathleen Middle — performed well enough to stay under direct district control. The other two schools failed to reach a C grade — one of them is Griffin Elementary — and will now be managed by Kentucky-based Educational Directions.
